Dark Chocolate "Trick or Treat" Bark
There are times when I just want a little bite of something sweet. Or do I want salty? Sweet. No salty.
Okay, sometimes I clearly “need” both!
This dark chocolate bark really does the trick for my treat cravings and is the easiest thing to make. It also makes the cutest homemade goodie bags for family, or friends. Dylan and Ryder have fun helping me make it and then we put the pieces into clear cellophane bags - tied up with Halloween inspired ribbon & a little 🖤 note attached.
Ingredients.
Dark Chocolate chips (1 bag) I use “Enjoy Life” Dairy-free Dark Morsels
Candied Oranges
Pretzel pieces
Mini Marshmallows
Pumpkin Chèvre (optional)
Cinnamon (or Orange) Vitality Essential oil (optional)
Walnuts
A drizzle of Maple Syrup
Dash of Sea Salt.
Instructions.
I simply melted a bag of dark chocolate chips (according to the package directions) and then added one drop of Cinnamon (or Orange) Vitality and swirled it into the melted chocolate. A little goes a long way when it comes to oils and cooking - I found one drop to be plenty! I then used a spatula to spread the melted chocolate into a thin layer over a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Next, I added all of the other bits and pieces and gently pushed them down (but not too much) with the palm of my hand to slightly secure them. Lastly, I drizzled a little maple syrup over all of the goodness and then added a sprinkle of Sea Salt to top it off. Then I placed the cookie sheet in the refrigerator until the chocolate firmed up - and then broke it into delicious pieces to be enjoyed!
